New Treasurer - Enhancing Our Client Treasury Services
Adeellah Emambokus joined Inter-Ocean Management Limited in June this year as the company Treasurer. Her prior experience with another Offshore management company based in Mauritius, made her an ideal candidate to manage, organize and provide quality Treasury services to both internal and external clients.
Her main functions in her role as Treasurer, include the preparation of bank transfers, opening of bank accounts, advising banks on receipts of funds, attending to resultant bank queries from clients and any administrative duties around the banking function.
In addition to her daily tasks, Adeellah will also be looking to create new and better existing relationship with service providers, with an ultimate view to ensure that quality banking services are provided to our underlying clients.
In addition to client company’s, Adeellah will also be focusing on trust accounts with a view to proactively offer clients investment opportunities and will also focus on personal banking facilities particularly for people who we assist in settling into Mauritius.
Compliance plays an important role in Adeellah’s day to day activities. She has attended a two day refresher course on Anti Money Laundering, which has heightened her awareness to the finer details relating to payments. Particular emphasis was made with reference to KYC (Know Your Client) and CDD (Continuous Due Diligence). These apply mainly to bank payments, where all payment requests need to be supported by invoices, agreements and any other supporting documents. Failing to provide such documents, the transaction becomes ‘non-compliant’ and cannot be processed further.
Adeellah will proactively be contacting clients to introduce herself, especially those who have frequent bank transactions, to ensure that the necessary processes and procedures are clarified and that we continue to improve our service.
So how does Adeellah feel after her first month with Inter-Ocean Management Limited? “I have been with Inter-Ocean Management Limited for one month already, however it seems as if I have been here for ages. I have had no problem settling into or coping with my new environment, as a result of the friendly colleagues around me, who are always ready to help me with my queries, and I am enjoying every challenge that comes my way!”. |
