Our Heritage
The initial Inter-Ocean company was established in Mauritius in late 1994.
Inter-Ocean Aviation Finance Corporation, was formed in order to assist in cross-border asset based finance transactions, with a specific emphasis on aircraft assets. The initial target market were clients that were situated in countries that did have exchange control regulations in force and where the availability of hard currency funding was scarce.
Within a fairly short time thereafter, Inter-Ocean Financial Reinsurers Limited was established. This company was the first Insurance Cell Captive Company to be established in Mauritius and was dedicated to insuring non-conventional aviation insurance risks.
Inter-Ocean Structured Finance Limited was subsequently established in order to assist those clients that required specific structured asset based finance needs. This company has assisted clients not only in asset based transactions but also assisted certain clients in completing offshore management buy-outs, offshore restructuring of onshore assets and the consolidation and parceling of certain debt instruments.
To assist in the financing of these clients’ insurance premiums, a niche insurance premium financer, Inter-Ocean Financial Services Limited was also established. This company specializes in providing finance to clients in many different jurisdictions where the ultimate insurance underwriter is located in London.
Arising from the numerous Inter-Ocean Group transactions through the years, it became apparent that a number of clients also required assistance in establishing their offshore businesses, needed ongoing administration and infrastructure services and required access to an understanding financier. Inter-Ocean Management Limited, a Mauritian company incorporator and Corporate Trustee was therefore formed.
Inter-Ocean Aviation Finance Corporation, now known as Air-Tec Africa is an aviation service provider, offering full aircraft leasing services to clients such as the International Red Cross, the United Nations World Food programme and various oil exploration companies. In addition to its operations, Air-Tec Africa also offers both the sale and financing of new aircraft, in particular the LET range of aircraft for which it is the authorised agent.
The latest addition to the Inter-Ocean Group is, Island Regulatory and Secretarial (IRS) Management Services Ltd. IRS Management Services Ltd is a locally incorporated domestic Mauritian company which provides both domestic and property holding structures. The domestic structures are aimed at people looking to establish a presence, trade and reside on the island.
The provision of property holding structures are aimed for those people looking to invest in either the Integrated Resort (IRS) Schemes or the Residential Estate (RES) Schemes.
Apart from the incorporation of either the domestic operating or property holding company, IRS Management Services Ltd also provides ongoing administrative services such as company secretary, Directors and infrastructure services and local administrative requirements such as paying bills and submitting annual tax returns, etc
Inter-Ocean Venture Capital Limited acts as an investment vehicle of diverse minority holdings and is the incubator of new ideas and greenfield operations. With access to the diverse range of Inter-Ocean Group products and services and with a specific emphasis on “partnering,” Inter-Ocean Venture Capital’s primary aim is to share in both the financial and personal successes of its diversified investments.
Inter-Ocean Holdings Ltd acts as the holding company and group treasurer of the above entities.
